What happens in a session?

A session with me is a calm, supportive space focused on you and your baby.

  • Each session is tailored to your individual needs.

  • We’ll start by exploring your feeding journey so far, what feels challenging, what you’d like to achieve, and what might help.

  • I’ll listen carefully and without judgement, with plenty of time to talk things through and for me to understand your situation, your goals, and what matters most to you.

  • I can help you make sense of what’s been happening and recognise what you’re already doing well, in the context of transitioning to new motherhood.

  • If needed, we can observe a feed together and I can offer some feedback and practical suggestions.

  • I’ll explain the reasoning behind my suggestions and provide evidence-based information from reliable sources.

  • Together, we’ll create a clear action plan for your next steps and make sure all your questions are answered.

  • After the session, you’ll receive a personalised written summary by email that you can refer back to, with links to any further information that may help.

  • With my in-person and virtual single sessions, you’ll also have seven days of follow-up email support, where you can get in touch with any questions or updates and we can talk anything through.

How do I book?

Choose a day and time that works for you using the online booking system.

Once you’ve booked, you will receive an email confirming the date and time of the session.

When booking, I’ll ask for a few details including your email address, your baby’s age, and your address and phone number if needed.

Once you’ve booked your session, I’ll send you an invoice by email with details of how to pay. Payment is due before your session and can be made by bank transfer. Your appointment will be confirmed once payment is received.

Before in-person appointments, I’ll give you a quick call to introduce myself, answer any questions, and make sure everything is in place for your visit.

Antenatal

‘Preparing to

Breastfeed’

Sessions

I offer free ‘Preparing to Breastfeed’ sessions so that you can feel informed, confident and prepared for your baby’s arrival.

These free antenatal sessions are for anyone expecting a baby who would like to prepare for breastfeeding and the early weeks of parenthood. We’ll cover areas such as the first feed, establishing breastfeeding, normal newborn behaviour, responsive feeding, the fourth trimester, and practical ways to prepare before your baby is born.

You may be planning to breastfeed for a few days, a few weeks, a few months or longer. My aim is to help you feel informed, reassured and ready for the transition to parenthood. Of course partners are very welcome!

These sessions can take place as a home visit in Plymouth, or virtually by secure video call.

There is no obligation to book further sessions.
